Do You Take This Spy? - tagalogue

After waiting for what seemed like forever, the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Stetson watched the woman give the room a look of satisfaction. They were relieved that it met with her approval, since she had gone to such pains to put everything in order. Breathing a sigh of relief as she heard the door close and click shut, Amanda slowly turned toward Lee as he turned toward her. She smiled and laughed nervously. Lee's eyes took on a very dark hue as he gazed at her.

Tenderly, he raised his hand to her chin and lifted it, then lowered his head and placed a soft kiss on her lips. He pulled back after just a moment and gazed into her eyes. She watched him read the unspoken invitation in her eyes as his lips captured hers again. His kiss was slow and thorough, a blend of intense passion and the abiding love they shared bursting forth from within. Lee wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her tight against him. Her hands instinctively raised to rest on his chest, her palms flat against the lapels of his suit jacket.

"Wow," Amanda breathed when they finally broke apart. She tried in vane to control the erratic beating of her heart and catch her breath, feeling his own heart beating in time with hers.

"Oh!" she exclaimed as her feet left the floor.

Lee swept her into his arms and began walking toward the door to the room. Amanda noticed where he was headed and looked up at him with her eyebrows drawn together.

"Lee?"

"Hm?"

"Where are we going?"

"You'll see," he replied mysteriously, then bent his head to place a soft kiss on her lips. When they reached the door, he gently set her down and opened the door, then grabbed her hand and led her out into the hallway. "I intend to do this right!" Lee swung her into his arms once more, his capturing hers in a lingering kiss that held a promise of what was to come.

When he pulled away, his left hand lightly poked her ribs, and she squirmed in his arms. Laughter bubbled inside of her and burst forth from her lips.

"Now, you're not playing fair!" she accused, squirming a little more when he tickled her again.

He grimaced but tried to hide it with a grin, so she didn't show any indication that she had noticed. Instead, she lovingly placed her arms around his neck and shoulders and leaned her head onto his left shoulder, inhaling his familiar scent.

As Lee stepped over the threshhold, she relaxed in his arms. Her heart was so full of love, it felt like it would burst. She felt the jerk when he kicked the door shut, but his arms tightened around her as he walked further into the suite, and she kicked off her shoes, hearing the two thumps as they hit the hardwood floor. When they reached the bed, Lee bent to carefully place her on top of the comforter. She saw another twinge, but it disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. Amanda swung her legs around, stretching them across the bed towards the other side, and patted the bed next to her, inviting him to join her.

As soon as he sat, she reached out and slid her hands up his chest to his shoulders, then down again to loosely clasp his lapels as she leaned in to give him a loving kiss. He shuddered at her touch. She smiled, uncertain whether or not she could restrain herself long enough to do what was on her mind. Slowly, she slid her hands underneath his suit jacket and up toward his shoulders, pushing the jacket down his arms and kissing him again. Lee helped her remove his jacket, then reached for hers and did the same.

Once their jackets were off and deposited onto the floor, Amanda reached for Lee's tie, expertly loosening it in the right places to easily pull it from around his neck. Lee was obviously surprised at her eagerness, but if his smile was any indication, he didn't mind one bit. Next, she reached for the top button of his shirt and undid it, then moved to the next, kissing him briefly in between undoing each one. When she had gone as far as she could, she gave his shirt a tug and pulled it from his pants, undoing the last buttons and helping him remove it, leaving him barechested. She bit her bottom lip as she reached out to run her hands across his smooth chest, exploring every inch. When her gaze met Lee's, her breath caught in her throat at the unmasked desire in his eyes.

Lee glanced down at her blouse and smiled. His eyes took on a teasing twinkle. Amanda knew it was because her blouse had no buttons in the front. Running his hands slowly up her arms, he reached behind her to the back of her blouse and undid the three buttons at the top, leaning in to kiss her as he did. His hands slid down her arms again to rest at her waist, and she was vaguely aware that he was slowly sliding the ends out from her skirt.

Again, he pulled back slightly to gaze into her eyes, seeking her acquiescence before making any further movements. Instead of nodding, Amanda grabbed the bottom of her blouse and lifted it up and over her head. She tossed it to join his jacket and shirt on the floor, leaving her in her camisole, then met Lee's gaze again.

He reached up to caress her cheek and smiled. "You are so beautiful," he whispered, leaning in to kiss her lips again. Pulling back, he moved up and placed a soft kiss on her nose, then kissed each closed eyelid, her forehead, both cheeks, and finally returned to her mouth. "I love you," he whispered against her lips.

When he pulled away again, Amanda almost shivered at the loss of warmth and his touch. Her eyes fluttered open to find him looking at her with a tender expression. He placed a finger over her lips. "Wait right here," he instructed, then slid off the bed and stood.

He walked around to the sitting room of their suite and disappeared around the corner. When he returned a few moments later, his left hand was behind his back, and a mischievous grin was on his lips. An answering smile appeared on her lips as he walked back around the bed, his gaze never leaving hers. The mattress sunk under his weight and caused her to lean a little closer to him, so she took advantage of the change in position and reached out to caress his chest.

"So, are you going to show me what you have in your hand," she paused and began drawing lazy circles, "or am I going to have to figure out a way to make you talk?"

His right hand came up to still her movements on his chest. SShe lifted her eyes to his.

"You keep doing that, and we won't get to what I have behind my back," he warned, but his eyes held the twinkle she had come to know so well.

Pulling back a little, she smiled. "All right. Show me what you have."

Lee grinned, then brought his hand from around his back. Amanda looked down at a plate with a bunch of grapes, a few strawberries, some slices of cheese, and a piece of their wedding cake. She gasped in delight, and he chuckled.

He nodded toward the windows. "I figure it'll go great with the bottle of wine I had brought in."

Amanda turned her head to see the small table that held a bucket of ice with a bottle sticking out from inside. Two glasses flanked either side of the bucket, waiting to be used.

"Looks like you thought of everything," she replied.

"Well, I didn't want you to go hungry. Besides, it's not every day that you get married, and I wanted to make it special. Is it working?"

"Mmm, it helps," she teased.

"Guess I'll have to do something about that!" He winked, then set down the plate on the bed and stood to walk over to the table.

Amanda watched as Lee lifted the bottle from the ice, admiring his strong back, the width of his broad shoulders and the muscles that shifted in sync with his movements. Momentarily mesmerized, she jumped when he popped the cork. Her attentions were once again focused on him as he poured the wine into the two glasses, then returned the bottle to the ice, lifted the glasses in his hands and turned back to face her. Joining her once more, he held out one of the glasses.

"To us," he toasted once she held her glass in her hand.

"To love," she added with a smile, "even thought it took us both a while to realize it."

He chuckled. "I'll drink to that!"

They clinked their glasses together, then looped their arms at their wrists as they each took a drink. Unraveling his arm from hers, Lee lowered his hand and reached for the plate which sat beside them.

"So, what would you like first?"

"Why don't you surprise me?" she suggested and closed her eyes.

A moment later, the cool feel of fruit touched her lips and the smell of strawberry assaulted her senses. With her eyes still closed, she opened her mouth and bit the fruit.

"Mmm," she moaned as the sweet juice flowed over her tongue.

She opened her eyes to find Lee's gazing intently at her mouth, his thumb and forefinger still holding the fruit to her lips. Amanda opened her mouth again to bite the rest of the strawberry, but this time also briefly placed her lips around his fingers. His chest rose and fell with his rapid breathing, and she watched his eyes darken.

As she finished and swallowed, she reached for another strawberry and held it to his lips. His gaze clashed with hers and he opened his mouth, taking the entire piece of fruit from her and placing his lips around her fingers as she had done to him. Now, it was her turn for her breath to catch in her throat. Her heartbeat began to pound against her chest.

They fed each other the last two strawberries in the same manner, then Lee reached for the bunch of grapes. Taking turns, they plucked one juicy grape after another from the bunch and popped them into each other's mouths. When it came to the last one, Lee held it to her lips and squeezed it just as Amanda opened her mouth. The juice dribbled onto her lips, but before she could lick it away, he leaned forward and captured her mouth with his.

"Mmm, much better," she murmured when they parted.

A groan sounded from the back of his throat. The grin on his lips showed the control he was exercising on his desires. Amanda understood them all too well, facing the same battle herself. She forced her attention back to the plate and realized the fruit was gone. Lee now reached for the two pieces of cheese. He handed one to her, then placed the other in his mouth. She did the same. Then, they both lifted their glasses and took another drink of wine. Finally, they came to the piece of cake. Amanda watched as he carefully broke off a piece, then returned his gaze to hers as he lifted the piece to her lips.

She held up a finger and took his glass from him, then placed them both on the bedside table. When she faced him again, she nodded and smiled, silently granting him permission to continue.

Lee once again held the cake to her lips. "Let's see if we can be a little neater this time," he teased.

She opened her mouth and allowed him to feed the piece to her. The passion and desire in his eyes was evident as he watched her take a bite and chew. Reaching toward the plate, she broke off a piece and fed it to him. He boldly took her fingers into his mouth and licked off the icing that was on them. She once again felt her breath catch in her throat at the tingling sensation created by his touch. Although they weren't able to have the public wedding both of them wanted, he was doing everything he could to make it just as special. His thoughtfulness touched her in such a profound way, she almost found it too difficult to speak.

"How did I get so lucky?" she murmured, cupping his cheek with her free hand.

He turned his face and kissed her palm, his intent gaze never leaving her face. "I could ask the same question," he whispered in return.

When they came to the last two pieces, they each took one and fed each other at the same time. As if by magnetic force, they both leaned closer until their lips met, their kiss a unique blend of softness, sweet icing and passion.

Amanda knew she couldn't allow herself to get too absorbed, but when Lee pulled her closer to him and wrapped his arms around her, she was rapidly losing the battle. She slid her arms under his and wrapped them around his back, surrendering to his touch and kiss. His hands began to roam, blazing a trail of fire on her skin everywhere he touched. She rubbed her hands up and down his back as his mouth moved over hers. When her hand inadvertently touched his ribs and elicited a groan, reality came crashing down on her.

She pulled away and forced herself to focus. Not an easy feat with her mind telling her one thing and her body another. "All right, I don't want to hear any arguments, but we're going to take care of your ribs!" Her tone backed up her words.

"Amanda!" Lee's voice was thick with emotion, but he stopped when she held up her hand.

"I said I don't want to hear any arguments, Lee," she repeated, scooting to the edge of the bed and sliding off to stand. "You're hurt," she began, walking around the bed toward the bathroom, "and I'm certainly not going to be the cause of you being hurt any further." It was a good thing Lee couldn't see her face as she said those words. She fought to keep the other thoughts from her mind as the heat stole into her face.

Opening drawers and cabinets, she searched through several things until she found what she was seeking. She felt Lee's gaze on her and knew he was watching her in amusement, most likely upset that she had interrupted their embrace to tend to him. But, if she didn't miss her guess, he appreciated it and loved her even more because of it. As she continued to search, she heard the mattress shift, followed by the thump of one shoe and then the other being dropped to the floor.

"Ah ha!" she triumphantly exclaimed, reentering the main room of the suite and shutting out the bathroom light.

He steeled himself as she walked toward him. It wasn't easy to rein in her whirling emotions at the look in his eyes. The way his gaze leisurely traveled down her length, clad only in her silk camisole and skirt and standing in her stocking feet, was almost her undoing. As much as her current state of undress was obviously affecting him, seeing him sitting there on the bed completely barechested wasn't exactly something she could ignore.

Amanda joined him again on the bed, only this time, she sat next to him and began unraveling the thick medical tape she had found. "Now, this may be a little painful, but it sure beats the alternative."

Lee's sigh told her he knew he had no choice. He lifted his right arm to give her better access. Before she began to wrap his ribs, she reached out to lightly run her fingers across the bruised area, the mark from the wound still slightly visible. Feeling more audacious than usual, she leaned down and replaced her fingers with her lips, placing light kisses on his injured flesh. She heard his sharp intake of breath and felt his shudder against her lips. Encouraged by his reaction, she kissed his bare chest as she moved upwards, then paused at his neck to trail her kisses up toward his ear.

"Amanda!" Lee groaned, and she glanced down to see him clenching his fists as they rested on the bed beside him.

Her eyes darted to his upper arms and watched the muscles flex. Recognizing his familiar tone, she raised her head to look him full in the face and heard him swallow. The tick in his jaw was more pronounced than usual and gave her an idea of the control he was exerting. Battling with the same raging emotions, she managed to give him a saucy grin, then place a quick kiss on his lips before turning her attention to her task.

Amanda knew Lee watched her every move, and once or twice her eyes met his. She quickly returned her gaze to her work, but not before seeing his knowing grin at her attempt to control her own feelings at his nearness. He reached out and lightly trailed his fingers across her bare shoulder and back to her neck, then behind her ear. She struggled quite a bit to ignore his touches. He chuckled, the sound of his laugh revealing that his thoughts were probably on the other times when she had done the same thing.

"There!" she stated with satisfaction. "All finished."

Lee looked down to view her work, the wounded area carefully covered and tightly wrapped to avoid any further injury. Raising his eyes again to Amanda's face, he smiled, then whispered, "Thank you."

"You're welcome," she answered and met him halfway as they shared another kiss.

"You know," he began once the kiss ended. "I don't feel too romantic, all wrapped up like this."

Amanda grinned and bit her bottom lip, as she methodically ran her hands across his bare chest and up to his shoulders. "I don't know, I think you're very sexy when you're a wounded. Makes you need me more." She leaned closer to him and placed her lips next to his left ear. "Besides," she whispered, "I didn't want anything to interrupt us."

Lee's voice took on a very husky timbre, and he smiled. "I don't think we'll have to worry about that. I've spent three years waiting for this, and I wasn't about to let a little pain stop me," he rasped, capturing her lips once more.

The kiss immediately deepened and Amanda groaned in the back of her throat. Relying on the last bit of reserve she had within her, she pulled back and broke the kiss.

"What did you mean by that last comment?"

He drew his eyebrows together. "What comment?"

She narrowed her eyes. "The one about waiting three years."

He gave her what appeared to be a nervous smile. "Now, Amanda, it's not what you're thinking. I know my reputation isn't exactly the greatest ... considering ... and although I can't lie and say the thought didn't cross my mind at various times, I somehow knew that there was something different about you ... something special." He reached out and took her hands in his, his thumbs immediately beginning their familiar caress. "I told you already there was a reason I picked you out of the crowd at the train station three-and-a-half years ago. Now I know what it was." His eyes held a tender expression, and a soft smile formed on his lips. "You're exactly what I've needed my entire life, but it took a lot of time to break down the walls I had built ever since I lost my parents."

She grinned. "They were pretty thick walls."

"But you didn't give up," he countered. "You stood by me through thick and thin. You made me see everything I was missing, and although I fought it, you made me realize that I'd never be truly happy without you in my life." He raised her right hand to his lips and placed a soft kiss on her fingers. "So, when I said I've waited three years, I only meant that since the day we met, everything that has happened in our lives has been building up to this day." He paused, and when he spoke again, his voice was no more than a whisper. "It's a day I'll never forget, because it's the day you gave me your life ... the day I started living again."

Amanda was completely overcome with emotion. "Oh, Lee!" she breathed.

He leaned toward her, but she pulled her right hand free to place a finger on his lips. At his questioning gaze, she pulled her finger away and held it between them. Standing, she first took the empty plate and placed it on the table to join their wine glasses. Then, she reached behind her back to unfasten the button and pull down the zipper of her skirt. She let it fall to the floor, leaving her in just her chemise, slip and stockings, as she stepped out of the skirt, then started to sit. Lee stopped her with a hand on her arm.

He took her hand in his and stood in front of her, then reached down and swept her into his arms again, turning toward the bed as he claimed her lips in another breathtaking kiss. Bending down a little, he pushed the comforter back and laid Amanda on top of the sheets. As he gently slid her across, she reached one hand down to push back the coverlet further and felt the mattress sink as he joined her on the bed, only briefly breaking the kiss.

Slowly, he leaned them both back onto the soft pillows, then moved to put his arms on either side of her. He smiled down at her with love in his eyes. "Amanda," he whispered, his breathless voice full of emotion.

"Mmm?" she replied, equally breathless.

"Are you happy?"

She gave him her most seductive smile and chuckled. "Why don't you turn out that lamp over there and let me show you," she whispered in reply.

He immediately moved away from her to reach for the switch to the lamp, and she did the same with the lamp on her side of the bed. The room was suddenly cast into darkness, with only the moonlight filtering through the window and casting its blue glow on the new bride and groom. Lee moved back to her and braced his arms at her sides again, then smiled. She saw all of the love she felt mirrored in the deep hazel pools of his eyes as he slowly lowered himself.

His breath was a warm caress against her face, and she smiled. "I love you, Mr. Stetson," Amanda whispered, her voice barely audible as she lost herself in the depths of Lee's eyes.

"And I love you, Mrs. Stetson," Lee whispered before capturing her mouth again and leading her in the timeless dance of love.
